Project 365: Consistently inconsistent

At least I'm good at something.

I've been wanting to add to this journal for over a week now, but the well of thoughts was empty, kind of like Plop.

There's so much to say, and so little time before it's all gone and out of my head. I just came back from another walk (which I've been enjoying very much despite the insanely thick humidity), in part because on the home stretch I see the sun break over the horizon. There's maybe 3–5 minutes of this incredible painting of colors across the sky, turning whatever clouds that are floating there into fluffs of cotton candy. Pastel versions of soft pink and orange tint the sky into something so rewardly gorgeous, it's enough to give me the push home.

Now granted, the push home is only 2/3 of a mile since the loop I've been on is rather short, but I'm still huffing and puffing because I'm out of shape, and because it's so goddamn humid out.

It's currently 79° F with a dew point of 75° and 88% humidity for a “feels like” of 85° F.

I've been making very slow improvements to my V02 Max, and I'll take it. I should create a log again of my walks. I had started it at the beginning of the year, and had been consistent, but for one reason or another (like everything else that people start at the beginning of the year), I ended walking nearly every day.

I have been taking days off because when you're starting something new like this, it's good to rest. I also can't necessarily go for a walk during a tropical storm. It's not recommended, anyway.

I'm going to try to get to a game today. It's been well over a month since I've been to a baseball game; I passed out on July 3. I'm not going to push myself, and with how I feel right now, I'm not going anywhere. I may have to not go for a walk tomorrow, or whenever I decide to go to a game.

The primary reason I want to go to a game is that the Tarpons added a handful of new names to the roster, some from the 2024 Draft, and I'd like to get first at-bat and first pro hit content of the two bats they added.

They also added Brett Phillips, former Major League center fielder-turned-pitcher, to the roster after he signed a minor league deal at the trade deadline. A lot of people didn't expect this to be one of the signings, but the Yankees like projects like this, and if you think about it, an outfielder as a pitcher makes total sense. They're going to have a strong arm if they need to get the ball 300+ feet back to home plate in some cases.
